Sphenoid Bone-Story of Human Evolution

The Sphenoid Bone -  The Story of Mankind’s Evolution

Watched a documentary on the new evolution theory last night:

Homo Futurus
What made early humans stand up and take their first steps? What is the next step in human evolution? These are some of the questions raised by this documentary which takes a new non-evolutionary look at our history. Two researchers (a palaeontologist and orthodontist) have uncovered a curious fact about the sphenoid, a small bone at the base of the skull. Over millions of years, each change in the sphenoid’s position brought a new species into our primate family. And dental records seem to point to a new change now, caused by alterations in the size and shape of our jaws. Could evolution be programmed into our cells? A number of scientists interviewed in this documentary think so, challenging Darwinian thinking.  It seems that every few million years our sphenoid bone, which lies at the centre of the skull - and is the first bone in the body of the foetus to develop - alters shape slightly. It flexes making more room for our expanding brain. With each flexing movement of this sphenoid bone flexes, the cranium becomes more rounded, the eyes become more central, and the jaw line recedes and alters shape. Also as this alteration occurred early humans were given an increased ability to stand upright. Pressure was taken off the chest and neck so that the larynx was released enough for speech to develop.  This flexing of the sphenoid - which is a beautiful butterfly shaped bone - has allowed us to evolve; also important - it would seem that these steps have not been gradual but have been distinct jumps in evolution.

There have been five transformations so far, the latest being 160,000 years ago. Anthropologists have noted that the transformations are becoming more rapid. Beginning 10 million years ago, then 6 million, then 4, then 2  then 160,000 years ago and it would seem we are about to evolve again. Dentists are starting to note the changing of the jaw line in children. If this flexing pattern continues - as all indications would seem - in the future humans will have larger foreheads, bigger eyes, and very small mouths. There is a picture on Lloyd Pye’s star child book cover (Google starchild) that matches the drawing of what we will look like in the future that was featured in the documentary.

This new theory raises the question of how our evolution has come about. Scientists can actually measure these transformations in the various types of human/animal skeletal remains. They have been recorded and dated so there is a scientific time line that cannot be disputed. It would seem that human evolution has not been totally dictated by external forces, there are also massive internal forces of change moving us towards an expanded development, and it is being done in decisive leaps almost as if we are programmed. This would indicate that our transformation is built into our genes. Of course the question the scientists cannot deal with is how and why this is happening. Their theory has been that external forces such as the environment are the cause of human evolution and many of them find it difficult to accept the idea that our development is inbuilt.

It maybe deliberate but what is the trigger?

Phillip Tobias and the French anthropologist Anne Malasse’ are leading the research into this phenomenon.

Other aspects of this story:

Whitley Strieber’s books and web site www.unknowncountry.com

‘Enterprise Mission’ Richard Hoagland’s website and research

‘Sight Unseen’ Bud Hopkins investigations into UFOs

Zecharia Sitchin’s books examining  the Sumerian civilisation

Lloyd Pye’s research into the Star Child skull

Janet Colli’s book ‘Sacred Encounters’

Raymond Fowlers books on Alien abductions

My own thoughts on human development:

I remember how excited I was when I first heard about the face on Mars.  Then again the other night while listening to this documentary the same excitement stirred. It has been enough for me to really look at what is hidden away inside my mind; Are we earth bound creatures part of a species that has used Earth as an incubator or a breeding ground for specialised spiritual development? Have we  been created by a very advanced species of intelligence using Earth to develop a physical structure around the energy of consciousness and intelligence

Is this is truly a time of change?

Regulator genes - possibly transcribed from domesticated retrovirus’ RNA and incorporated into our own genome (remnants of about 30 found so far).
Another documentary has a fascinating few minutes where an oxylotol is injected with an enzime that stimulates a regulator gene - its’ gills close over and it becomes entirely land dwelling = evolution within one organism.

Human evolution has NEVER been “totaly dictated by external forces”.
Evolution has always allowed for genetic accidents, mutations and changes within organisms during mitosis and cell replication and division.
Changes to the sphenoid bone are evolutionary.
    No problem.
