Sample My Mandala Drawings

Pictured above is a mandala I have have drawn using coloured pencils and inks.

I do this for the internal joy I feel while creating something where nothing existed before. I have written books, shaped new forms in clay and glass (and these days I am happy drawing mandalas) in order to make contact with the part of me that exists beyond the normal state of consciousness. This ‘higher self’ overflows with creative energy and while functioning at this higher frequency, time disappears, the ego disappears, the stress disappears…I simply AM - although I am even unaware of this state as I work.

Pictures of my work and my book(s) can be found in this section.

Also because I am as passionate about our creative health as I am about our physical health I would be pleased to talk to you about your own creative drive. Most of us have an image or an idea of something we would like to create. It might be a gaden, a painting, a expression through dance, or even driving a racing car. Our dreams are limitless although some find it very hard to draw this passion out into our material world. Yet it is this energy, this type of mental/emotional effort that allows us to develop a deeper awareness of who we are, and how we connect to the world.

If you are considering creating something from nothing, or creating a new aspect of yourself (again something from nothing) feel free to contact me. If I feel our conversation might be of some help to others I’ll put it into this section.

Below is a picture of my book ‘The Hidden Realm’ and an outline of the story.

My book has been well recieved here in Australia.

This is an outline of the novel:

The Hidden Realm

Lyn Willmott

Overview

  • The main character, ROD OAKEN, is the fifteen year old son of an archaeologist. They are exploring cave-art in the remote Kimberley Ranges in Northern Australia when Rod becomes lost in an unusual cave complex which leads him into an unknown rain forest where he is confronted by an ancient race of people whom he quickly realizes are superior to humans. In an effort to remain hidden from the barbaric Earthlings these strangers have manipulated the earth’s magnetic force, placing the forest slightly out of phase with the rest of the planet. The timing of Rod’s arrival fits in with their prophecy that before the great earth changes, their kingdom must be realigned with the rest of the planet. Rod is told his quest is to bring about this reunification, but there is a military force working in this ancient society who reject the predicted changes, fighting to prevent Rod from completing his task.
  • The Hidden Realm is a Fantasy for Young Adults with environmental concerns and present day predictions of Earth changes woven into a mythic tale of an unknown world. Written in the classical ‘quest’ style, the story speaks of other realms; other states of consciousness; the multi layered reality of quantum physics, and questions surrounding life after death. It is a wide ranging plot which allows me to explore man’s relationship with our planet; initially inspired by my talks with teenagers - for these topics are of great concern to young people. Indeed my research resulted in similar data to that used in the film The Day After Tomorrow, a film which captured the imagination of our youth.
  • A signature moment in the story is the scene set in a library on the other side of consciousness, where Rod is allowed to see his future. It’s here that he begins to understand the underlying PLAN directing his life. The scene takes us beyond this present reality giving us a fresh approach to the idea of a ‘personal destiny’.
  • Central to the story is ‘the quest’. In Book One, Rod is seeking to understand his identity; in the second section he begins to understand his new role, as he joins with Chaldee, the deposed young ruler of the hidden kingdom, and together they begin to unravel the prophecy. In the third part of the book Rod’s task is set in place and with the help of Chaldee he fights to realign the ancient forest with the rest of the planet, meaning he must face and overcome death - a warrior’s quest.
  • A powerful moment of connection between reader and writer is at the end of the novel when Rod find himself trapped in collapsing caves.
  • As the story progresses Rod learns to accept the lifestyle of a race of people who have the ability to use their minds in an extremely potent manner; challenging the art of communication that he understands. Also Rod begins to understand that all elements of Life possess a state of consciousness which maybe different from humans, but is equally as valid.
